The term of Vice President, Development and Alumni Engagement, Barbara Miles comes to an end on December 31, 2012. The President has determined that he will consider Ms. Miles’ reappointment. A committee has been established to make a recommendation to the Board of Governors concerning the possible reappointment of Ms. Miles.
The Vice President, responsible to the President, provides strategic leadership to the Development and Alumni Engagement portfolio to accomplish the vision, commitments, goals, and actions as set out in Place and Promise: The UBC Plan. The Vice President provides oversight for a complex portfolio focusing on increasing UBC’s engagement with its Alumni and fundraising to enable fulfillment of academic, research and capital priorities.
The following have been appointed or elected to the Committee:

– Mary Ann Bobinski [Dean]
– Larry Goldenberg [Faculty]
– Jeff Todd [Portfolio]
– Adrienne Nolan [Portfolio]
– Patricia Stevens, Secretary
The Committee is entering into a consultative process to define the main challenges of the portfolio, and in that context, to identify the main needs of the portfolio over the next five years. Following the deliberations of the Committee, I will make a recommendation to the Board of Governors concerning the possible reappointment of Ms. Miles.
