To: All UBC Students, Faculty, and Staff
On June 4, 2013, the Board of Governors repealed Policies #104 (Responsible Use of Information Technology Facilities and Services) and #106 (Access to and Security of Administrative Information) and replaced them with a new Policy #104 (Acceptable Use and Security of UBC Electronic Information and Systems).
The new Policy #104 outlines the responsibilities of members of the University community with respect to the acceptable use and security of University electronic information and the services provided by the University (including but not limited to your CWL Account). The new Policy also requires all users to adhere to Information Security Standards, which are developed by the Chief Information Officer with the input of an Advisory Committee. Some of these Standards have already been approved, and are posted at http://cio.ubc.ca/securitystandards.
A copy of the Policy can be found at http://universitycounsel.ubc.ca/files/2013/06/policy104.pdf
