To the UBC community:
This summer, UBC will host the Special Olympics Canada 2014 Summer Games (http://vancouver2014.ubc.ca) at its Vancouver campus, July 8 to 12, 2014. Special Olympics is the world’s largest sports organization for people with intellectual disabilities. For one week in July, UBC student residences will be transformed into an Athletes Village, and the campus’ athletic facilities will host eight of the 11 sporting events as well as the opening and closing ceremonies.
As approximately 3,000 athletes and supporters from across Canada will participate in the Games, volunteers are essential so that UBC can deliver an experience the athletes deserve and that allows them to do their best! Close to 1,000 volunteers will be needed to support all aspects of the Games, including the competitions, team hosting and accommodations, sustainability programs, and operations.
We invite and encourage you to be part of the 2014 Games by volunteering for this extraordinary experience. All volunteer opportunities are being coordinated by Vancouver 2014 Games Organizing Committee. To complete the Games volunteer registration form, please visit:
