To: Faculty, staff and students in Vancouver and the Okanagan
As we begin a new academic term, we would like to contact you regarding copyright at UBC. Our practice is to contact all Campus Wide Login (CWL) account holders annually, to give you an opportunity to review and acknowledge UBC’s Copyright Guidelines.
The UBC community creates, distributes and uses all manner of written materials (physical and digital). It is therefore important that everyone in our community has a working understanding of the copyright principles under which we all must operate.
We invite and encourage you to review the Copyright and Fair Dealing Requirements and Guidelines (http://copyright.ubc.ca/guidelines-and-resources/copyright-guidelines/), and the other useful information on the Copyright at UBC site.
To assist you, the Library’s Scholarly Communications & Copyright Office is available to advise faculty and staff on the application of UBC’s copyright requirements and guidelines and provide a range of services to support faculty, staff and students in the preparation of their course materials, assignments, presentations and publications.
For more information and new developments about copyright, please consult the Copyright at UBC website at: http://copyright.ubc.ca.
