I am pleased to share the University of British Columbia’s Connected by Commitment 2015-2016 Annual Report. The report communicates our progress each year through a mix of storytelling and metrics that highlight the achievements of our students, faculty, staff, and alumni as they support the nine commitments of the university’s strategic plan, Place and Promise.
If you are a manager of staff whose work is not computer-based, please print this email and display it in a common work area for them to review.
I wanted to write to you directly – even prior to my joining UBC on August 15 – to share with you my leadership style and a request that you engage with me in improving and strengthening our university.
I wanted to write to you directly – even prior to my joining UBC on August 15 – to share with you my leadership style, my hopes for UBC, and a request that you engage with me in improving and strengthening our university.
Last year, Dr. Martha C. Piper returned to UBC as Interim President and Vice-Chancellor. On June 30, she will formally end her second period of leadership at UBC.
Dr. Piper’s passion and dedication have been extraordinary, and her advice to the Board and the senior administration has been invaluable.
As a follow-up to my message on June 7, the Board of Governors has referred Policy #131 (Sexual Assault) http://universitycounsel.ubc.ca/files/2016/06/Proposed-Policy-131.pdf for consultation: all members of the university community are encouraged to provide their comments.
