UBC free flu vaccination clinics starting 2 November

To: Students in Vancouver

Every November, UBC offers free flu shots to students, staff, and faculty through the Influenza Immunization Program (flu shot).

Clinics will be held at convenient locations and times across campus from Nov. 2-30. You can register now at http://www.riskmanagement.ubc.ca/health-safety/free-flu-shot-clinics-2015 to secure a vaccine on the day and session that is best for you.

No matter how healthy you are, anyone can get the flu. It is highly contagious and spreads rapidly on a campus like UBC where we work, study, travel and socialize closely together. The flu shot is one of the best ways to protect yourself this winter.

The wellbeing of our students is very important to all of us at UBC. To help protect everyone’s health, I encourage you to both help stop the spread of germs and consider getting a flu shot next month.

Do you have friends or family who are not UBC students, staff, or faculty and would like to get a flu shot?

The Pharmacists Clinic at the UBC Faculty of Pharmaceutical Sciences (Vancouver Campus) has flu shots available for eligible BC residents. This service is for members of the public and others on and around campus who are not receiving a flu shot through the central UBC program. Please visit http://pharmsci.ubc.ca/flu for or more information.

You can also find additional clinics, including vaccination services for children, at Immunize BC (http://immunizebc.ca/clinics/flu#8/49.246/-123.116).
