UBC’s Centennial year has offered the opportunity to mark our collective pursuit of excellence in teaching, learning, and research. It also offers the chance to remember the history of our Aboriginal neighbours and look forward to a mutually beneficial and positive future.

As the academic year draws to a close, faculty, staff and students are invited to join end-of-term Centennial celebrations this Wednesday, April 6.

The program at the Vancouver campus begins at 10:30 am at Money and Raymond M.C. Lee Square (outside UBC Bookstore) with the dedication of the Musqueam sʔi:ɬqəy̓ qeqən (double-headed serpent post), which will serve as a permanent welcome to all the visitors to these grounds and as a reminder of our relationship with the Musqueam people.

A lunch-hour festival follows at University Commons (outside the Nest) where we’ll continue the celebrations.

Everyone in the campus community is encouraged to take time to reflect on our historic year, and to connect with one another as we look forward to a second century of growth and transformation together.
