Today is GivingTuesday, an international day dedicated to giving back. It is a day where charities, companies and individuals join together to share commitments, rally for favourite causes and think about others.
GivingTuesday is a great opportunity for us all to recognize the importance of philanthropy to UBC’s mission. Your work is transforming lives, and much of that work is empowered by the support we receive from alumni and donors.
Last year, nearly 17,000 generous donors made a contribution to UBC, raising millions of dollars for student support, research and infrastructure. I invite you to use this global occasion to celebrate the difference donors have made to your area of UBC—and to celebrate the causes that you support too.
