To: Faculty and staff in Vancouver and the Okanagan

In recent weeks, elections were held for faculty and staff representatives to join the UBC Board of Governors.

Thank you to all those who submitted themselves for nomination. I can confirm the following individuals have been elected to join the Board:

Faculty & staff — Vancouver
The successful candidates representing faculty are Drs. Charles R. Menzies and Ayesha S. Chaudhry, both from the Faculty of Arts. Mr. Darran Fernandez of Enrolment Services has been elected for a second term as the representative of the non-academic staff of the Vancouver campus. The 2017–2020 term for these representatives begins on March 1, 2017.

Faculty & staff — Okanagan
Dr. John Klironomos, from the Faculty of Arts and Sciences, also known as the Irving K. Barber School of Arts and Sciences, has been elected as the faculty representative. Mr. Curtis Morcom of Finance Operations and Strategies has been elected to represent staff. Their three-year terms will commence on September 1, 2017.

Senate elections
Elections for the Vancouver and Okanagan Senate will continue through early 2017. Nominations for convocation members are open until January 31, 2017. Please visit https://facultystaff.students.ubc.ca/triennial1617 for more information.

Thank you once again to all the candidates for their interest in serving the university and the Board of Governors, and to everyone who took part in the elections process.
