The term of Dr. Kate Ross’ appointment is coming to an end on 31 October, 2018. Dr. Ross has indicated her willingness to consider an extension to her appointment as Associate Vice-President, Enrolment Services and Registrar. Therefore, we are initiating the process for her extension as set out by the Board of Governors under Policy No. 43: https://universitycounsel.ubc.ca/files/2016/12/policy43.pdf.

We have asked the Senate office to conduct an election for a staff member from the Registrar’s office and to facilitate the selection by the Vancouver and Okanagan Senates of two faculty members (one each from the Vancouver and Okanagan campuses) to serve on the President’s Advisory Committee. We will also consult with appropriate student groups to select two student members (one from each campus) to serve on the committee. Once we have the composition of the committee finalized, we will inform the community of the process.

We will co-chair the President’s Advisory Committee, which will consult widely within the university and beyond, and we will ensure the community is kept informed throughout the process.
