Update your UBC wireless connection by May 9

To: Students in Vancouver and the Okanagan

Important changes are coming to UBC’s wireless connections (UBC Secure, Eduroam, UBC Private) as of May 9, 2018. These changes will affect the ability of all students at UBC’s campuses and distributed learning sites to connect to UBC wireless.

Students must download and install the AutoConnect tool on their mobile devices and tablets by May 9 to ensure a seamless transition from the existing UBC WiFi connection to the new one. Doing so will also ensure that your WiFi connections are updated before the next term.

For iOS/MacOS/Windows OS users:

To run the AutoConnect tool on each of your iOS, MacOS, or Windows OS mobile devices, please visit www.it.ubc.ca/autoconnect-sc. This process takes less than 5 minutes per device to complete and should be done while on campus.

For Android/Chrome OS users:

To run the AutoConnect tool on your Android device, please visit www.it.ubc.ca/autoconnect-sc after May 9. Android devices do not allow for concurrent network set-up. This process takes less than 5 minutes per device to complete and should be done while on campus.
