Further to the UBC Broadcast earlier this week, this message is a call for nominations for those willing to serve on the search committee for the selection of the next UBC Chancellor. The search committee will be active over the next academic year.
The following 8 positions are available:
- Two faculty members from UBC Vancouver.
- One faculty member from UBC Okanagan.
- One undergraduate student from UBC Vancouver.
- One undergraduate student from UBC Okanagan.
- One graduate student from either UBC Vancouver or UBC Okanagan.
- One staff member from UBC Vancouver.
- One staff member from UBC Okanagan.
Nominations will close at 4:00 pm on Thursday, August 15, 2019. For nomination forms and eligibility information, please visit https://facultystaff.students.ubc.ca/2019-chancellor-search-committee-elections.
At the same time, this message serves as a call for nominations in by-elections for a number of vacancies available on the following governing bodies:
- One staff member from UBC Vancouver to serve on the Board of Governors for a term ending February 29, 2020.
- Two UBC Okanagan faculty members to serve as representatives of the joint faculties on the Okanagan Senate for a term ending August 31, 2020.
- One UBC Okanagan faculty member to serve as a representative of the Faculty of Health and Social Development on the Okanagan Senate for a term ending August 31, 2020.
- One UBC Okanagan faculty member to serve as a representative of the Faculty of Arts and Science on the Okanagan Senate for a term ending August 31, 2020.
- One UBC Vancouver faculty member to serve as a representative of the joint faculties on the Vancouver Senate for a term ending August 31, 2020.
