The university is currently embarking on a series of elections and search committees with opportunities for staff, faculty and students to get involved.

 

This message serves as a call for elections and/or nominations for the following:

  • Board of Governors
  • Chancellor search committee
  • Vice-Provost and Associate Vice-President Academic Affairs search committee
  • Okanagan Senate

Board of Governors – By-election

The Board of Governors has a vacancy open for an elected staff member from UBC Vancouver to serve for a term ending February 29, 2020.

Staff in Vancouver are invited to vote in this election before Thursday, September 12 at 4:00pm.

Chancellor search committee – Elections

Staff and undergraduate students from UBC Vancouver, and graduate students on either campus are invited to vote for their representatives on the search committee for the selection of the next UBC Chancellor. Elections are open for the following positions:

  • One undergraduate student from UBC Vancouver;
  • One graduate student from either UBC Vancouver or UBC Okanagan;
  • One staff member from UBC Vancouver.

We are still seeking nominations for the UBC Chancellor search committee for the following:

  • One faculty member from UBC Vancouver;
  • One faculty member from UBC Okanagan.

Vice-Provost and Associate Vice-President Academic Affairs search committee – Nominations

Nominations are open for elected positions on the search committee that is being convened to select the next Vice-Provost and Associate Vice-President Academic Affairs at UBC Vancouver. We are seeking:

  • Two faculty members from UBC Vancouver;
  • One undergraduate student from UBC Vancouver;
  • One graduate student from UBC Vancouver.

  • One UBC Okanagan faculty member to serve as a representative of the Faculty of Health and Social Development for a term ending August 31, 2020;
  • One UBC Okanagan faculty member to serve as a representative of the Faculty of Arts and Science for a term ending August 31, 2020.
