Support the future of ‘Vote on Campus’

As you know, Canadians across the country took part Monday in the 2019 Federal Election.

Santa Ono and I encouraged all eligible students to engage in the democratic process and cast a ballot. We were encouraged to see that Elections Canada’s ‘Vote on Campus’ initiative saw a 60% increase in ballots cast compared to 2015.

Elections Canada is now seeking your input to determine the future of the ‘Vote on Campus’ initiative and other outreach programs. The survey is open to all UBC students, regardless of whether or how you chose to vote.

You can take part at https://surveys.advanis.ca/campus_electors.

The survey is voluntary and should take no more than five minutes to complete. The deadline for responses is October 30, 2019.

I encourage you to complete the survey and share your thoughts. With your help, UBC will continue to promote the power of ideas, knowledge, and evidence; reinforce the importance of civic participation; and stand up for the values of a free and democratic society.
