UBC’s Indigenous Strategic Plan — final opportunity to have your say

If you are a manager of staff whose work is not computer-based, please print this email and display it in a common work area for them to review.

Thank you to everyone who took the time to provide their input on the Indigenous Strategic Plan during the engagement activities that took place last semester.

We would like to share what was heard and the actions we want to take together as the plan is implemented, at a series of open houses next week.

You are invited to drop in anytime to one of the following events (lunch will be provided):

UBC Okanagan

March 9
1pm – 3pm
University Centre Ballroom (UNC200)

UBC Vancouver

Open House #1
March 11
12pm – 2pm
Sty-Wet-Tan Great Hall at the First Nations Longhouse

Open House #2
March 12
12pm – 2pm
Sty-Wet-Tan Great Hall at the First Nations Longhouse

As a reminder, the purpose of this strategic plan is to form UBC’s response to the Truth and Reconciliation Commission of Canada’s Calls to Action and the National Inquiry into Missing and Murdered Indigenous Women and Girls’ Calls for Justice, along with the more international backdrop of the United Nations Declaration on the Rights of Indigenous Peoples.

Learn more about these events and the important journey in creating this plan athttps://indigenous.ubc.ca/indigenous-engagement/indigenous-strategic-plan/.

We will be marking the official launch of the final Indigenous Strategic Plan at an event in the coming months. More details about this celebration will be shared in due course.

Thank you for supporting UBC’s Indigenous Strategic Plan and for being part of this important process.
