Advisory: UBC’s COVID-19 Rapid Testing Program

If you are a manager of staff whose work is not computer-based, please print this email and display it in a common work area for them to review.

This message is to give you advance notice of information you will receive early this week about UBC’s COVID-19 Rapid Testing Program.

UBC is requiring COVID-19 rapid testing for all students, faculty and staff, with exemptions provided for those who are fully vaccinated against COVID-19.

As the first step of the COVID-19 Rapid Testing Program, all students, faculty and staff are required to complete an online, confidential declaration of their vaccination status. Those who indicate that they are unvaccinated, partially vaccinated, or do not disclose their vaccination status, will be required to take part in regular COVID-19 rapid testing when working or studying on one of UBC’s campuses or at an off-campus facility controlled by UBC.

On Tuesday, September 7, you will receive information, including a link, that will guide you to the online Vaccination Status Declaration and the steps you will need to follow to complete the process.

At a later date, those that have been fully vaccinated will be contacted about how to provide verification of vaccination. After that, audits will be conducted as part of the program, and students, faculty and staff may need to provide additional information if requested. Those that are unvaccinated, partially vaccinated or do not disclose their vaccination status, will be notified about completing regular COVID-19 rapid testing and reporting requirements.

Thank you for supporting a safe environment at UBC.

President and Vice-Chancellor
