Today is GivingTuesday, an international day to highlight the importance of giving back. At UBC, you can find the impact of our supporters everywhere. I invite you to use this global occasion to help us celebrate the contribution of donors, alumni and friends to our campuses — and to the world.
You may have seen media coverage, regarding UBC being featured in the fifth estate program about sexual assault and harassment on university campuses. We admire the courage of the women who came forward to bring attention to this crucial issue.
Following the approval of the Terms of Reference by the Board of Governors and the Senates, I am pleased to advise that all 21 committee members have now been appointed or elected.
Every November, UBC offers free flu shots to students, staff, and faculty through the Influenza Immunization Program (flu shot).
Clinics will be held at convenient locations and times across campus from Nov. 2-30. You can register now at http://www.riskmanagement.ubc.ca/health-safety/free-flu-shot-clinics-2015 to secure a vaccine on the day and session that is best for you.
Today UBC released the summary of a report by the Honourable Lynn Smith, which outlines her findings relating to allegations that, following the publication of a blog post by Professor Jennifer Berdahl on August 8, 2015, the Chair of the Board of Governors or individuals in the Sauder School of Business interfered with her academic freedom or violated relevant UBC policies.
